The Relationship Between Snoring and Diabetes

Hi I’m Keiko,

Do you tend to overeat when you feel tired?

If so…

Are you suffering from snoring? or type 2 diabetes?

If you are a snorer, but don’t have diabetes yet…

Did you know there is a relationship between Diabetes and Snoring?

At first, what occurs to your body when you snore while sleeping?

Read this article below.

The Basics of Snoring

If you snore during sleeping, you cannot have a deep sleep.

Lack of sleep every night might lead to not only sleep problem but also serious health problems in your future.

One of them would be… Diabetes.

Why Diabetes?

“Diabetes and sleep problems often go hand in hand. Diabetes can cause sleep loss, and there’s evidence that not sleeping well can increase your risk of developing diabetes,” they say in this article.

The Sleep-Diabetes Connection

They also say,

People who are tired will eat more because they want to get energy from somewhere.”

“High blood sugar is a red flag for sleep problems among people with diabetes.”

What will happen if you have Diabetes?

They say… “Diabetes occurs when the body does not produce enough insulin or the cells do not properly use the insulin. When insulin is not doing its job, high blood sugar levels build in the body to the point where they can harm the eyeskidneys, nerves, or heart.”

If you get up and go to bathroom several times in the night… you don’t sleep well. That means you probably feel fatigue in the morning/daytime.

“The more fatigued they feel, the more their motor is running, and the more likely they are to develop insulin deficiencies,”  says Zafarlotfi in that article.

So I recommend you to…

Go to see a doctor to have your blood-sugar level checked.

Because it is said that your blood-sugar level is under control, you can sleep better and get more energized when you wake up.

Go to see sleep practitioners to have your snoring/breathing pattern checked for getting a better sleep.

Good sleep is as important as what you eat for people with diabetes.

Go to see a dietitian to learn how to get fit with food.

Because being obese is a risk factor for developing diabetes as well as snoring/sleep apnea.

Lastly…

Go to see nature spots to do exercise for fun and to have a relaxing time to relieve stress for feeling a lot of happiness without overeating habit.

We hope you have a good night sleep for a healthy and fabulous life!
