Hi, I’m Keiko.
Do you clench or grind your teeth?
Have you ever been told about your sleep problem like that from people around you?
If you clench your teeth during the daytime, you may clench or grind the teeth at night as well.
If you have a habit of bruxism (clenching or grinding)…
what will happen to your teeth and body?
Why people have the bruxism?
Is the bruxism a disease?
It’s not a disease, it’s a symptom or condition.
But if you brux the teeth often, it may lead to severe health problems…
“Occasional bruxism may not be harmful but when it occurs regularly, it may be associated with moderate to severe dental damage, facial pain, and disturbed sleep.“
“People who have sleep bruxism can also suffer headaches, earaches, jaw pain, jaw joint disorders and damaged teeth.“
“Although the causes of bruxism are unknown, one study links it with such factors as anxiety, stress, alcohol consumption, cigarette smoking, caffeine, sleep apnea, snoring and fatigue. Sleep apnea may also be related to sleep bruxism, and evidence suggests that treating sleep apnea can help alleviate sleep bruxism.”
says the National Sleep Foundation.

Bruxism is also told a sleep problem.
Mayo Clinic says,
“Sleep bruxism is considered a sleep-related movement disorder. People who clench or grind their teeth (brux) during sleep are more likely to have other sleep disorders, such as snoring and pauses in breathing (sleep apnea).
See your dentist or doctor if you have any of the symptoms listed (on their page) or have other concerns about your teeth or jaw.
If you notice that your child is grinding his or her teeth — or has other signs or symptoms of bruxism — be sure to mention it at your child’s next dental appointment.”

Bruxism is not a good habit.
The more often you clench or grind the teeth, the worse health and dental condition you will get.
Care for your teeth!
I hope you have a good night sleep and a joyful life!
