When is the best time for your child to see an orthodontist?

Hi I’m Keiko,

Do you have straight teeth naturally?

Good for you!

I’m sure you have not only alignment teeeth,

but also good habits of tongue posture, breathing and swallowing.

How about your child?

Do you think they need to get an orthodontic treatment?

If so,

you might be thinking about the best time of visiting to an orthodontist…

The answer will be…

you don’t have to wait until their permanent teeth appeared.

The American Association of Orthodontists (AAO) says,

“Children have their first visit with an orthodontist…

 no later than age 7.”

Read their page.

Does my child need to wait until they have all of their permanent teeth to see an orthodontist?

If an orthodontist said,

“It’s too early for him/her to have braces”,

you can go to see other orthodontists

or

you should visit an Orofacial Myofunctional Therapist.

The therapists will give you good advice about your kids’ habits such as breathing, swallowing, chewing and tongue posture.

If their habits are incorrect, OM Therapy is very beneficial to stop bad habits which are really related to get straight teeth, facial growth and over all health.

And for adults…

If you have crocked teeth, you don’t have to wait.

Make an appointment for an initial consultation soon.

Because the AAO says,

“There’s no time like the present to talk to an orthodontist about getting the smile you’ve always wanted.”

But remember that…

Orthodontic treatment is about creating a healthy bite.

The beautiful smile is a bonus.

Getting good function of organs and correct habits can make your life healthier and wealthier.

I hope you have a radiant smile and a joyful life!
